Mrs. Laura Meyer
Mrs. Laura Meyers was raised in an Air Force family where they loved to travel and spent most of their time living internationally – Italy, Japan and the Philippines. Her father would always ask, “I wonder where that road leads?” and they would be off to explore. He fostered a love of learning that continues to this day.
Mrs. Meyers received her BA in Elementary Education from MidAmerica Nazarene College in Olathe, KS. She has included different subject areas in her continuing education courses since then.
She and her college sweetheart, Brad, have been married for 36 years. They have 8 children (4 boys and 4 girls) ranging in ages from 16-32. Six of the children are married. They have ten grandchildren to hug.
Her grandmother always said she had a “one-room schoolhouse” where she has been blessed to be able to homeschool their children for over 27 years.
She has taught the last five years at Joshua Christian Academy in Des Moines. She was teaching 7-12 grade students a different subject each year: the first year was history, then science, Spanish, computer science and writing class. For the 2023-24 school year, she switched to elementary and taught a K/1st combination class where she was challenged and enjoyed learning daily with the students.
Kindergarten
Mrs. Kendall Schaffer
Mrs. Kendall Schaffer graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a BA in K-6th Elementary Education. After graduating, she enjoyed spending a year homeschooling privately for a family. This experience made her realize the value of a faith-based education combined with meaningful parent involvement. Mrs. Schaffer is enthusiastic about working alongside parents to nurture both a passion for learning and a deep love for Jesus in her students. She is known for bringing gentleness, enthusiasm, and devotion to the classroom. She has been blessed to have been married to her husband, Nick, since 2014. She delights in spending time serving her home and her community, nutrition, reading, and gardening.
First Grade
Miss Abigail Kelly
Miss Abigail Kelly attended Faith Baptist Bible College and earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education along with a K-8 Reading endorsement. Miss Kelly is passionate about helping students learn to love reading. In her free time, Miss Kelly enjoys spending time outside by keeping honey bees, exploring Iowa’s many state parks, and spending time with friends in nature. When inside, Miss Kelly can be found reading, writing, playing piano or flute, and cooking and baking.
First Grade
Mrs. Angie Bettin
Mrs Angie Bettin (Buteen) and her husband, Pat, have three children and four grandchildren. Their two sons are grown and their daughter attends TRCA. They live on a beef cattle farm in small town Leon Iowa. Mrs. Bettin’s passion for children started after she was saved on a mission trip to Jamaica to an orphanage called Robins Nest in 2011. She was raised Lutheran as a child and didn’t know she needed a relationship with Jesus. After coming to a knowledge of her own sin and then repenting; her life has never been the same. All the glory to God! Her passion for Jesus and children continues to grow!
Mrs. Bettin has been a substitute teacher, a board member and board chair at Funshine Learning Center in Lamoni, Iowa. She has also served as a Sunday school teacher for 4th-6th grade for approximately 10 years at her church and as the VBS director. She absolutely loves Jesus with all her heart and it brings tears to her eyes to know there is such a place as virtuous and glorifying to God as TRCA. It is her prayer, hope, and passion to point scholars to our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27
Second Grade
Mrs. Angie Bakker
Mrs. Angie Bakker holds education degrees from the University of Northern Iowa and Upper Iowa University. Most recently Angie completed the coursework to become a licensed dyslexia specialist through Grand View University. Angie has had the privilege of teaching in both public and private Christian schools. She is grateful to come alongside TRCA families in educating their children and desires to bring glory to God through her teaching. Angie lives with her husband and three young kids in Ankeny, Iowa. She has a deep love for classical ballet and often finds opportunities to teach and share that art with others. She enjoys spending time with her family, long bike rides, good books, and hot coffee.
Second Grade
Mrs. Nancy Schroeder earned both a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Elementary Counseling from the University of Nebraska – Kearney. Mrs. Schroeder has over twenty-five years of teaching experience in both public and private Iowa schools, and has worked with homeschool families as their coordinating/supervising teacher. Mrs. Schroeder enjoys helping students and fellow teachers reach their highest potential and seeks to instill in her students a love of learning and a love for Jesus. Mrs. Schroeder brings to TRCA a reputation for a calm and orderly classroom, a strong affection for students, and the ability to motivate them to succeed. She and her husband, Tim, have two grown sons and enjoy outdoor activities together.
Third Grade
Mrs. Trayla Carter attended the University of Northern Iowa where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and then worked as a training and development specialist at John Deere, and another training firm in Des Moines. She led a classical homeschool coop for four years and has taught students with a variety of learning challenges. Instrumental in the early stages of starting TRCA, Mrs. Carter brings enthusiasm and joy to every aspect of her involvement. She gets excited about many things, including thrift shopping, tennis, hikes and bike rides, history, coffee, and traveling. She and her husband, Nate, have been blessed with three children who are unique, kind, and silly.
Third Grade
Mrs. Bethany Fisher
Mrs. Bethany Fisher earned a degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Education from Grace College. Following her time at Grace, she went on to earn her reading endorsement from Grand View University and masters in Teacher Effectiveness and Professional Development from Drake University. She taught seven years at a private school before joining Two Rivers. Mrs. Fisher loves watching her students gain confidence in their learning. She is thankful to be able to join you in having a front row seat in your child’s learning. In her free time she enjoys baking, playing volleyball, and spending time with her husband and two children.
Fourth Grade
Mrs. Dana Reddin
Mrs. Dana Reddin is passionate about providing children with a rich, classical Christian education, firmly rooted in the Word of God. As a mother of six, she has extensive experience homeschooling her own children using classical methods. Mrs. Reddin currently teaches fourth grade at TRCA and serves as the Grammar School Academic Advisor, where she supports and guides teachers in refining their craft through classical education pedagogy. She loves serving grammar school families by offering support and resources, helping them nurture both academic and spiritual growth.
With a heart for ministry, Mrs. Reddin is committed to teaching children sound doctrine and guiding them in biblical literacy. She integrates Scripture into her teaching, emphasizing the importance of grounding children in biblical truth, as seen in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, which reminds us that “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” Mrs. Reddin seeks to encourage families to diligently teach God’s Word to their children in every aspect of life (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).
Mrs. Reddin founded and directed a classical Christian school, seeking to make this education accessible to more families. She has presented at numerous conferences, sharing the timeless benefits of classical education rooted in Christian principles. Originally from California, Dana and her husband Nick moved to Iowa in 2006. Together, they enjoy hiking, trail running, cycling, and exploring nature. Mrs. Reddin is dedicated to lifelong learning and opening doors for the next generation through an excellent classical education grounded in Scripture and faith.
Fourth Grade
Mrs. Alne Hartog graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Faith Baptist Bible College. She began her teaching career in Illinois at a private Christian academy as well as a Montessori school. She and “her Sweetheart” husband, Paul, have served as youth leaders in churches in Illinois and Iowa, and she’s held administrative positions with the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches and The Network, in Des Moines. She taught and led a homeschool coop for several years while her own three blessings participated. Besides teaching at TRCA, she is also the assistant director at Alpha Women’s Center, a crisis pregnancy center, for Ankeny and Des Moines. She enjoys playing her guitar, Troy, and singing with her students at church and school. Mrs. Hartog loves to celebrate life, including their monthly wedding anniversary!
Fifth Grade
Mr. Dylan Gadberry
Mr. Dylan Gadberry is recent graduate of Drake University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science and Finance. He spent two years after graduation working for Campus Fellowship at Drake before joining the Two Rivers staff in 2024. He is also on staff as a music director for Walnut Creek church. Mr. Gadberry spent his earliest years of school at a Catholic parochial school and is thankful that the Triune God was front and center for so much of his education. He is passionate about providing today’s students with a deeply Christian education and is a new proponent of the Classical method. He enjoys walks with his wife, Julia, going out running, playing card games or chess, and reading as many books as he possibly can.
Fifth Grade
Mrs. Deborah Rose Mrs. Deborah Rose graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College with a BA in Elementary Education & Bible, as well as a Middle School endorsement. She has been a part of Christian school education for 14 years as a classroom teacher, literacy support teacher, and librarian. Mrs. Rose & her husband, Doug, have two boys who attend the TRCA Rhetoric School; they love the rich discussions their family has around their dinner table as a result of the topics the boys are studying. She is actively involved in the children’s ministries at her church. She seeks to bring glory to her Savior as she teaches the scholars and serves the parents at Two Rivers. For fun, she reads education philosophy (really!), enjoys knitting, family time, organizing things, and hot tea.

Mrs. Sarah Carroll
Mrs. Sarah Carroll earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications and Spanish from Central College. She and her husband, Curtis, have homeschooled their four children for many years and have been blessed to be a part of TRCA. With a love for Latin, grammar, and literature, she has thoroughly enjoyed classical education that weaves Biblical truth into each subject. She enjoys puzzles with her family, coffee, and living on their acreage with 17 chickens, a dog, and a cat!
Bookkeeper
Miss Anna Chung
Miss Anna Chung graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College. She interned at Soteria Church and worked there as a secretary after graduation. She left that role in order to be a part of Soteria’s church plant on the Eastside of Des Moines. In her next role as a secretary at the UnityPoint Training Center, she handled the accounting for her department including invoicing the 500+ AHA courses per year. Over the years, she has developed a love for accounting and finance. She works full-time at a bank and also remotely handles the bookkeeping for Two Rivers. She also loves serving in her local church and has been a youth leader for several years. In her freetime, she loves embroidery, reading, and baking.

Mrs. Rebekah Chung
Mrs. Rebekah Chung graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College. She has three children that she homeschooled from kindergarten to graduation. She also has over 20 years of experience working in children’s ministry at her local church including four years serving on staff as the Early Childhood Director. Mrs. Chung brings a logistical and detail-oriented approach to her role as an associate and enjoys interacting with the students during lunch and recess. She is thankful for the privilege of working at TRCA with the amazing students, families, and teachers!
Science & Latin Teacher- Grammar School
Mrs. Melissa Tucker Mrs. Melissa Tucker has been teaching at TRCA since it began in 2019. She enjoys passing on her love for Latin to her 4th through 6th grade scholars and passing on her amazement of God and His created world to her 2nd and 3rd grade scholars in science. After completing her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, she attained her master’s degree in Practical Ministry. She was blessed with the opportunity to homeschool her six children from preschool through graduation from high school. Along the way, she and her husband served together on the leadership board of their local homeschool group, and she taught co-op classes, tutored, and assisted other moms in their journey of educating and discipling their children. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, reading, gardening, and biking. In her role at TRCA, she considers it a privilege to support parents in guiding their children in completing their work with joyful excellence and in encouraging their children to grow in knowledge and character for the glory of God.
Music Teacher- Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric School
Mr. Jordan Pohlmann
Mr. Jordan Pohlmann has studied and taught voice and choral music for over 15 years. A graduate of Doane College and the University of Iowa M.A. program, with coursework completed for a doctorate in voice and opera, singing has always been at the center of his life. In addition to directing the choirs at TRCA, Mr. Pohlmann also leads a studio of extremely gifted vocalists and pianists with weekly lessons and a recital of classical and theatrical music every semester. A member of Westkirk Presbyterian Church, Mr. Pohlmann directs the Westkirk Choir as well as the string and brass ensembles, and leads worship singing for the congregation every Sunday with a small contemporary ensemble.
Mr. Pohlmann walks through life with his wonderful wife, Mary, and together they lead and homeschool their 4 children. They are so thankful for the many opportunities that TRCA has provided for their family!
Physical Education Teacher- Grammar School
Mrs. Charlene Segebart
Mrs. Charlene Segebart attended Trinity International University for 2 years where she studied Children’s Ministry. She has worked among different schools as an associate and as the Children’s ministry director at her local church. As a Midwest transplant, she has grown to love living in Indianola. Her husband and her have 4 kids who have attended TRCA since the opening. In her free time, Char is an avid thrifter and loves finding deals. She loves being out in the sunshine, watching foreign shows, and simply laughing with friends.
Drama and History
Mr. Jared Cline
Mr. Jared Cline graduated with a BA in Biblical Studies from Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny. He then received his substitute teaching certification through the Iowa Board of Education and filled substitute roles for the Des Moines Public Schools for three years before joining Two Rivers Classical Academy. For the past 6 years, Mr. Cline has served as a full-time associate pastor at Fellowship Baptist Church in Des Moines. Mr. Cline has been pastoring in various Churches for 14 years. He and his wife Angela live in Des Moines where they homeschool their 7 children (4 boys, 3 girls) . Mr. Cline has a passion for literature, ancient languages, theology, apologetics and philosophy, but his greatest joys are spending time with his family, studying the Bible, teaching and preaching.
Physical Education Teacher- Grammar and Logic School
Mrs. Misty Sano
Mrs. Misty Sano has her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and a Master’s in Education with a Physical Education emphasis. Mrs. Sano has taught for over 40 years from 6th grade to college, in Iowa and California. In addition to teaching PE and coaching volleyball, she has taught language arts, career/finance, and senior ministry. She loves working with young people and instilling the desire to take care of their bodies and minds through physical fitness. In her free time she loves to hike, read, and play disc golf.
Chemistry
Dr. Ethan Roos
Dr Ethan Roos obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Biology while attending Luther College and a Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Dr Roos has been in practice for more than 20 years and owns Dimples Family Dentistry in Norwalk. Dr Roos and his wife Sara have 6 children, 5 of which are currently at TRCA. He has always enjoyed and is passionate about the sciences. In 2023 TRCA expanded the curriculum to include Chemistry
and the opportunity to teach the course to 11th grade students. He enjoys the relationships with the students, the blessing that it is to teach, the staff, and the parents!
Academic Advisor and Math & Science Teacher- Logic School
Mrs. Karen De Bruin
Mrs. Karen De Bruin completed her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a Middle School endorsement and Mathematics specialization from Dordt College in Sioux Center, IA. Prior to having children, Mrs. De Bruin taught math and science at Calvin Christian School in Blaine, MN, at Des Moines Christian School, and at Ames Christian school. After enjoying several years at home with her daughters she felt called back into Christian education. She was the first administrator of Trinity Academy in Macomb, Illinois, a classical, hybrid school, where she was both parent and Academy teacher. Mrs. DeBruin is passionate about the integration of Biblical truth into all learning, the formation of virtue, and the pursuit of knowledge with the purpose of bringing honor to God. She and her husband, Jason, and their two daughters enjoy travelling and outdoor activities.
History and Theology- Logic School
Mr. Shawn Powers
Shawn is the teaching pastor of Redemption Hill Church. He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and raised in Dubuque. In his early twenties, he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Sixteen years later, Shawn sensed God’s calling to move back to Iowa to begin a church in the Des Moines metro. His education includes a Bachelor of Science from the University of Northwestern – St. Paul, a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Master of Theology from Saint John’s University. He is an ordained elder through Trinity Fellowship Churches. He currently serves as the chair of the Theology Committee for Trinity Fellowship Churches and teaches history and theology part-time at a local Christian classical academy. Shawn enjoys reading, working out, drinking a good cup of coffee, and watching Iowa Hawkeye football. He has been married to Charice for over 17 years, and they have two daughters, Chloe and Isabelle. Within the context of the local church, Shawn is dedicated to preaching the Word of God, discipleship, and seeing the gospel go forth, redeeming and renewing individuals so they can flourish to the glory of God.
World Literature and Composition Teacher- Logic School
Mrs. Leah Dietrich
Mrs. Leah Dietrich earned her bachelor’s degree in secondary English education from Faith Baptist Bible College. She has been an English teacher at both Walnut Ridge Academy in Waterloo and Grandview Christian School in Des Moines, and has written curriculum for Faith Academy, an online school. Mrs. Dietrich also taught classically for several years through a homeschool coop. Leah enjoys traveling, reading, and coffee roasted by her husband. She was instrumental in setting the founding vision for TRCA. Leah and her husband Zach partner with TRCA in the education of their five children, and against her better judgment, also raise chickens in their backyard.

Mr. Zach Dietrich
Mr. Zach Dietrich is an associate pastor at Soteria Church where he oversees theological development, which is a fancy way of saying he loves teaching and books. Zach grew up in eastern Iowa but has spent most of the last twenty years in the Des Moines area. Zach has a Master of Divinity from Faith Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been reading about and researching classical education for over ten years, but his other passions are coffee. He and his wife Leah have engaged in classical home education for their five children for several years.
Band Teacher- Logic and Rhetoric School
Mr. Carroll Hardy Mr. Carroll Hardy holds a B.A. in music education from the University of Northern Iowa, and an M.M. in piano performance from the same institution. He has also done additional graduate work in music education through Boston University. His teaching experience includes thirty-four years of teaching band and general music in Norwalk and most recently, four years at Des Moines Christian, teaching fifth and sixth grade band. He and his wife Kathy homeschooled their two children, one a professional oboist in Boston and the other an app developer working in California. He and Kathy were founding members of Christian Home Educators of Warren County. As an adjunct at Simpson College, he teaches music education methods and supervises student teachers in music. In his spare time, he enjoys creating piano hymn and classic arrangements, serving as a worship leader at his church, and vegetable gardening.
Latin and World Literature Teacher- Logic and Rhetoric School
Mrs. Tracy Dickinson
Mrs. Tracy Dickinson has a Bachelor’s degree in English from Cedarville University and has taught literature and writing courses with several homeschool communities while homeschooling all of her own children. She and her husband, Matt, have three sons, three daughters, one daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren. After 10 years leading classes with a classical homeschool community, Mrs. Dickinson joined Two Rivers first as a literature and composition teacher then taking on the Upper School Latin program as well. In addition to her classes at TRCA, she works as a freelance writer and plays piano for her church. And no matter how busy she gets, she always has time to read.
Campus Secretary
Mrs. Mandee Hamann
Mandee Hamann is the Upper Campus Secretary and joined the TRCA admin team in the fall of 2024. She is married to Jeremy and has 2 college aged children and 1 upper school scholar at TRCA. She studied at Berean University. Since then, she has worn many hats as a full time mom, in business, administration, direct sales, and youth & children’s ministry. Her family started homeschooling in 2020 and found Two Rivers as a great collaborative option. When she is not at TRCA, she is a public speaker for the non-profit organization, ScreenStrong, spending a lot of her time educating parents and students on the science behind how screens are affecting developing brains. She loves interacting with kids of all ages and is so grateful to be a part of the TRCA staff.
Spanish Faculty
Mrs. Janae Perrott
Janae Perrott completed her bachelor’s degree with a minor in Spanish at Faith Baptist Bible College. She has enjoyed using Spanish subbing in a public high school, teaching in a Christian elementary school, and working with non-English speaking clients in a non-profit ministry in Des Moines. She lives in NE Des Moines with her husband, four kids, and golden retriever. Janae enjoys leaving Iowa to go hiking, mediocre running, and home projects. Her favorite food to order at a Mexican restaurant is helado frito.

Mrs. Tami Rondeau
Mrs. Tami Rondeau earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in art education from Iowa State University. She brings experience teaching art at all levels, including 33 years of elementary art for Southeast Polk, 8 years of adult and youth classes at the Des Moines Art Center, and many summers of her own workshops and classes. Mrs. Rondeau and her husband, Chuck, live near Bondurant with their frenchie pup, Otis.
History, Theology, and Language Faculty- Logic and Rhetoric School
Mr. Scott Martin
Mr. Scott Martin has been teaching the Great Books and the liberal arts since 2019 in both classical schools and homeschool coops. Before that, he served as an intelligence officer with the U.S. Army in Alaska. After sojourning through the American West over the past decade, Mr. Martin is excited to have returned to his home state to teach at TRCA. He loves engaging students in great conversations about wisdom and virtue and inspiring moral imaginations with the power of narrative. Mr. Martin earned a Bachelor of Arts from Colorado State University and a Master of Divinity from Denver Seminary. He and his wife Jessica home school their four children, and their family loves board games, food, camping, fishing, and serving in the church.
Headmaster and History and Theology Teacher- Rhetoric School
Dr. Nathan Oppman was himself homeschooled and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, a Master’s degree in History, and a Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Bob Jones University. His doctoral dissertation focused on the area of Biblical worldview in young adults who were active in the public policy arena. He comes to TRCA after spending eight years working in the field of public policy, at both the national level in Washington, D.C. and the state level in Des Moines. Dr. Oppman serves as an adjunct college professor and is a guest speaker at a range of classes, conferences, and seminars for young people.
Facility Manager
Mr. Steve Skinner
Mr. Steve Skinner earned his bachelor’s degree from Faith Baptist Bible College. After careers in the financial and fitness industries, he served in the public school system before coming to TRCA.
Mr. Skinner enjoys biking, hiking, kayaking, and cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa Barnstormers. He loves tinkering, building props, and modifying Nerf blasters and lazer taggers. He teaches and disciples at his local church. Mr. Skinner is the father of four children (and one son-in-law). He and his wife, Rachel, homeschool their two younger children.
For three years, Mr. Skinner wore two hats at TRCA, managing the facility at the upper school campus while teaching in the logic school. He has recently transitioned into focusing solely on managing the facilities at both TRCA campuses. He is excited to support the on-campus teaching staff in their mission to assist Christian parents in rearing God-fearing young men and women.

Mrs. Tricia Webster
Mrs. Tricia Webster has a degree in Exercise Science and has worked with individuals to plan and implement healthier and stronger lifestyles. With the blessing of two boys she and her husband answered the calling to homeschool. Here at Two Rivers Mrs. Webster strives to shepherd our scholar’s hearts to worship our God as they grow in their knowledge of Science and Math. Mrs. Webster enjoys spending free time traveling with her husband, scrapbooking, gardening, and supporting her grown boys as they pursue their callings.
Rhetoric School Faculty Advisor for Mathematics
Mrs. Jennifer Conner

Mathematics is the universal language behind creation. It declares the character of our amazing God. Studying it cultivates virtue in the learner. Jenny Conner finds great pleasure in helping others see truth, beauty, and goodness in the “mountainous land” of Mathematics. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Northern Iowa with an education degree along with minors in Mathematics, English/Language Arts, and Reading. She has taught in all manner of settings prior to coming to TRCA: public school, private school, homeschool co-ops, and her own homeschool. She has privately tutored upper level mathematics and ACT preparation for over 25 years, and is a speaker at various homeschool conferences and retreats around the Midwest. She serves as the Rhetoric School Faculty Advisor for Mathematics.
The Lord has blessed her and her husband with five boys to raise in the fear and admonition of Him. They are a family who enjoy the outdoors, gardening, living books, experimenting in the kitchen, game playing, and showing hospitality.

Mr. Creighton Hatting
Mr. Creighton Hatting is presently pursuing degrees in Applied Mathematics and Secondary Education with an Endorsement in Math. He plans to graduate in the spring of 2025 with both degrees. Concurrently, he is pursuing his Master’s in Education and plans to graduate in the spring of 2026. His experience with teaching comes from varied experiences throughout his life, including coaching Eclipse volleyball for four years, coaching tumbling for five years, and teaching Sunday school at his church for several years. He is likely to be found reading a good book, playing the piano, or learning some new sport in his spare time.

Dr. Heidi Schleicher grew up on the East Coast in Delaware and migrated westward to graduate from Colorado State University with a BS in Biology and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She later earned a Masters in Public Health from the University of Iowa and is a board certified diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. During her professional career, Dr. Schleicher had the opportunity to work for the USDA National Veterinary Services Laboratories in Ames, IA within several disease eradication and control programs. She has been working for TRCA since 2022 and is grateful for this opportunity to serve alongside such a dedicated and faith-filled community of parents and colleagues. She is thrilled to be able to share a love of God’s intricate and beautiful molecular and cellular design of living things with her 10th grade scholars, and she enjoys the unpredictable excitement of each day at the Grammar School! Heidi is ever grateful for her amazingly talented husband, Tyler, and their marriage since 2001. Together, they enjoy the blessings of watching their two children grow in Christ’s love and taking family road trips. In her free time, she enjoys coaching girls high school lacrosse, listening to long form interviews on all sorts of topics, and trying to ensure her two lime trees survive in Iowa’s Zone 5 conditions.

Mrs. Robin Witt
Mrs. Robin Witt graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor’s of Science in Astronautical Engineering and minors in Mathematics and French. While there she taught fellow cadets to fly gliders and her first assignment following Pilot Training was as an Instructor Pilot in the T-6. As an F-16 pilot she deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and served as a war planner in two different CAOCs. She also earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma in International Relations. After separating from the Air Force to be a stay-at-home mom, she joined the AF Reserves as an Admissions Liaison Officer for the US Air Force Academy. In this role, she mentors and interviews prospective candidates to the university. She considers it a great privilege to serve as a TRCA instructor, incorporating her diverse background in the classroom and pointing scholars to Christ. She enjoys gardening, traveling, and cooking for her family.

Mrs. Katie LaFollette
Mrs. LaFollette graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She studied evangelism and received ministry training.
She lives in Indianola with her husband Tyler and their dog Steve. They enjoy camping and spending time with family and friends. Mrs. LaFollette helps with women’s ministry at her church in Ankeny. She has a heart of prayer and walking with people who are going through difficult seasons of life to encourage them.
